I am Kelly, a devoted mother and entrepreneur, serving as the Executive Director at EquipEd Allies. Originally from London, UK, I bring over 20 years of financial expertise to this fulfilling role. My journey with EquipEd Allies was inspired by my two dear friends, Maribel and Kemi, who are sisters and dedicated educators. They constantly faced the burden of feeling financially responsible, often paying out of their own paychecks to ensure their students had the necessary supplies.

 

Witnessing Maribel and Kemi’s selfless dedication, as they went above and beyond to support their students, deeply moved me. Their love for teaching and their willingness to bear financial strain on behalf of their students sparked my passion to make a difference. I am driven by the belief that every child, regardless of their financial background, deserves access to necessary educational resources.

 

My vision with EquipEd Allies is to address the inequity in classrooms, ensuring resources reach those who need them most, while alleviating the financial burden on educators who sacrifice so much. Beyond my role at EquipEd Allies, I am an active community volunteer and an advocate for educational fairness.

 

My commitment to creating a better future for all children is both heartfelt and unwavering. Through EquipEd Allies, I aim not only to meet immediate needs but to build a future where educational equity is a reality, and every child has the chance to thrive without educators bearing undue financial responsibilities.

As a committed Board Member of EquipED Allies and change management consultant, I focus on enhancing governance through effective communication and digital organization. My passion is securing funding for school supplies and ensuring teachers have the resources they need to thrive. With extensive project management experience, I adeptly assess community needs and present compelling insights to stakeholders.

 

Communication is one of my core strengths, enabling me to articulate our nonprofit's goals clearly and highlight the importance of school supplies. I have a proven track record in training and capacity building, empowering community members and volunteers to advocate effectively.

 

My technical proficiency in documentation and software management supports efficient donor database management and enhances transparency. I am dedicated to strategic planning and compliance, consistently developing proposals that align with funders' requirements. My expertise in relationship management helps me forge connections with potential donors and partners, significantly advancing our mission and positively impacting the community.

I am Michelle Williams, originally from Florida but Atlanta has been my home for the past eight years. My journey here has been deeply rewarding, as I've built a vibrant entrepreneurial career with three successful ventures: Alaura Sweet Treats LLC, Durant Land & Home Investing LLC, and working as a Licensed Life Insurance Agent.

 

With a Master's degree in Forensic Psychology and a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice & Graphic Arts, along with being a certified CPR Instructor and over two decades of experience in correctional facilities, I have accumulated a broad spectrum of skills and knowledge.

 

I believe in giving back to the community and have been committed to volunteering my time to teach financial literacy and inspire young adults to embrace entrepreneurship as a viable path.

 

I chose to serve on the EquipEd Allies Inc Board as the Treaurer because I am passionate about education and its transformative power. I admire EquipEd Allies' dedication to eliminating educational barriers and equipping educators with the resources they need to foster inspiring learning environments. Serving on the board allows me to support a cause that aligns with my values and commitment to empowering educators and students in Georgia.​​​​
